February is a short and busy month here at Our Lady of Sorrows. We began with Catholic Schools Week and all the activities that show how special our school is. Parents and students joined with Monsignor Healy our pastor and the teachers and staff at the parish Mass on Sunday January 29. Our choir sang, and student readers and altar servers gave witness to our Faith.
Academic Excellence Day highlighted the efforts to learn and the success many of our students achieve. Parents visited our Open House as did new families interested in a Catholic school for their child. Sports Day activities displayed our school spirit and our healthy lifestyle.
Faith, Academics and Service was the theme of this National celebration Our Lady of Sorrows School lives that theme every day.
Progress reports will be distributed to parents this week. These reports give a picture of the work our students were expected to do since the December report card. Check out your child's report, celebrate what is good on it and help your child to change in the areas that need improvement especially homework, study, effort in the classroom and behavior. Parents and teachers working together can make great progress for our boys and girls.
The Winter Break begins on February 20 with Presidents' Day and we return to school on February 27. We hope every family can take time to be together and do something special. A trip to a museum or the zoo is good, but a long walk in the park with talking and sharing family stories is also fun and special. We will try to post some activities that you might enjoy.
Thank you for your support of all we do! God bless you!
